January 16-The Words on Paper contest winners read their entries followed by open mic.
February-Winter break – no meeting.
March 20– Mary Godsey discusses organizing your writing projects
National Poetry Month with J.L. Kato, poet, discusses the use of concrete and abstract language in poetry & prose
–Katie Andrews Potter, Author, will speak about the importance of family writing.
June 19-Carol Hall, Writer, Historian, Playwright, –will present the importance of how to research history and important facts about family as well as information for a story or novel.
July 17-Jane Austen Speaks—CIWA regular meeting will be with the
Greenwood Public Library‘s presentation of Jane Austen’s life.
August 21 – LIVE TO WRITE: WRITE TO LIVE – Members will write a piece and bring either a memory from their past story, or a fiction mystery short-short story. All stories should be 300-500 words. We will break into small groups to share.
September 18–Sue Breeding, book designer discusses self-publishing.
October 16–Members write a scary story and bring to meeting to share.
November 20–Business meeting followed by critique session.
December-Christmas party. Date and location to be announced
