A not-for-profit multi-genre organization for published and unpublished writers, we are headquartered on the south side of Indianapolis. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere of nurturing and encouragement for those who wish to hone their writing skills. We’re a friendly, informal group of people, and you will be comfortable on your first visit. We keep growing better, and stronger, because of the members of CIWA!
Our members are novelists, poets, and essayists writing in various genres. Monthly meetings provide our members with a host of different activities, including guest speakers, local authors, award-winning poets, and writing tutors.
Our monthly newsletter, Communiqué, provides our members with information regarding writing opportunities, other contest events, and a vehicle to offer possible publication for their writing.
And while CIWA encourages every writer to continue writing, we do not support any form of pornography, erotica, or BDSM writing. There are writing groups for those genres elsewhere.
