Michael Barrett

        Leaves hang on lazy oaks,
buckets on the trunks of maples.
        Radiators hiss and knock.

Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow. In the North, some days the ice in outdoor rinks is too soft for skating. In Central Indiana those who bought snow throwers last fall question whether they should have bought one. Next week Major League catchers and pitchers report to training camp.

Spring is still weeks away. Weather is too cold for me to sit outside and write. I, and perhaps you, must work harder to get started. Hitting the keys and moving the pen takes a decision.
