WORDS ON PAPER – SHORT STORY CONTEST 2017
Who can enter
This contest is open to all writers. Membership in the Central Indiana Writers’ Association is not necessary.
Entries must be postmarked by October 31, 2017, or you may bring to the CIWA meeting on October 16, 2017, at The Greenwood Public Library, Greenwood. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM.
The topic for entries is open; however, short stories that have already been published or have won in other contests are not welcome. Remember a short story must have a beginning, a middle and an ending.
Submit two copies, one with the author’s name, telephone number and e-mail address if applicable, and the other copy with no personal information. Entries will not be returned.
We recommend submitting authors retain a copy.

Each entry must be typed on 8-1/2 by 11-inch paper and double-spaced. Maximum length is 1500 words. Print the word count in the upper right-hand corner of the first page.
The entry fee is $5 for each short story submitted, payable by check or money order only. Include with your submission a check (or money order) for five dollars made out to “Central Indiana Writers’ Association.”
First Place Prize is $50.00. Second Place Prize is $30.00, and Third Place Prize is $20.00. Winners will be notified primarily by e-mail, and if necessary, by telephone.Winners will be invited to read their short story at our meeting on January 15, 2018. C.I.W.A. offers to include winning short stories in our monthly newsletter, The Communiqué.
